Ami Mizuno's parents are divorced, and she lives with her mum. They suddenly divorced probably just because of different points of views (her dad is a painter, and her mum is a doctor). It can be seen how her two parents really influence her, she wants to be a doctor because of her mother, and when she is confused she swims and plays chess (something that her dad thought her to do). Ami was in her second year of Junior High School (Class 5) at Juuban (Crossroads) J.H. When Usagi (Sailor Moon) first meets her, she thought about an improvement of grades... but who could have thought that this was a Sailor Mercury? She works extremely hard and she is No.1 in all her work, except... dhe lacks social experience which often lead her to quite embarassing moments of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time.
