Akane
Tendo
 |
Akane Tendo is 16 and the youngest daughter of Soun Tendo. She is medium height and slightly muscular build, brown eyes and short bluish-black hair. She is also one of the heirs of the Tendo dojo and Anything Goes school of Martial Arts, where she trains and lives with her father and sisters (Kasumi and Nabiki). When Akane was very young, the Tendos suffered a huge personal loss when Akane's mother died. Because of that, Akane was never really taught the things that a woman usually knows how to do. Akane grew up getting into fights, and perfecting her martial arts to the best of her ability. Most kids her age at the time thought that she was so much like a boy, because of her short haircut and her behavior. The result of that childhood was a girl cursed with a short, explosive temper, deadly cooking, and a slightly boyish figure. While she is not as fashionable or conservative as her sisters, she is still very attractive. However, despite what she projected on the outside, Akane is indeed a girl, with the feelings of a girl. |
Nabiki
Tendo
Nabiki, Akane's older sister is definitely the most ambitious materialistic
of the Tendo family. A somewhat conniving entrepreneur, Nabiki has been
known to do just about anything to make money, from selling pictures of
her sister and Ranma, to blackmailing people with information. Some people
argue that Nabiki is simply cold-hearted slime at the core, while others
believe that she is simply a decent but opportunistic person. Some think
that the real reason she is the way she is is because of a hurt caused
by either a past relationship or the death of her mother. Whatever, the
reason, Nabiki is a clever money-maker with both brains and beauty, but
seemingly not much heart.
Kasumi
Tendo
Kasumi is Akane's oldest sister. After their mother died when Akane
was still very young, Kasumi took over all the household tasks that had
formerly been her mother's. While some people argue that in doing so, Kasumi
suppressed her true personality in order to better served her father and
sisters, others feel that she was in fact a natural for this role and that
she was born this way. One thing is certain, Kasumi is one of the sweetest,
kindest, most beloved members of the Tendo household. Even when she was
possessed by an evil oni which made her do evil things, not a single member
of the house could bring his or herself to strike her in self-defense.
Kasumi's cooking, cleaning, words of wisdom, and unfeasibility definitely
make life easier around the Tendo household.
